Description

The 74HC4051D is a type of high-speed Si-gate CMOS devices,which is specified in compliance with JEDEC standard no. 7A. The74HC4051D is a 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with three digital select inputs (S0 to S2), an active LOW enable input (E), eight independent inputs/ outputs (Y0 to Y7) and a common input/output (Z). The 74HC4051D is choosed (low impedance ON-state) by S0 to S2. With E HIGH, all switches are in the high impedance OFF-state, independent of S0 to S2. VCC and GND are the supply voltage pins for the digital control inputs (S0 to S2, and E). The VCC to GND ranges are from 2.0 to 10.0 V for HC and from 4.5 to 5.5 V for HCT. The analog inputs/outputs (Y0 to Y7, and Z) can swing between VCC as a positive limit and VEE as a negative limit.


The unique features of the 74HC4051D is shown as below:(1)Wide analog input voltage ranges from -5V to +5V; (2)Low"ON" resis- tance when 80 W (typ.) at VCC-VEE is 4.5 V,70 W(typ.) at VCC-VEE is 6.0 V and 60 W (typ.) at VCC - VEE is 9.0 V;(3)Logic level translation enables 5V logic to communicate with±5 V analog signals;(4)Typical"break before make"built in;(5)Output capability is non-standard;(6)ICC category is MSI.

The 74HC4051D also has the following ratings:(1):DC supply voltage is-0.5V min and +11.0 V max(2):DC digital input diode current 20 mA max when VI is greater than -0.5 V or VI is greater than VCC + 0.5 V;(3):DC switch diode current is 20 mA max when VS is less than -0.5 V or VS is greater than VCC + 0.5 V;(4):DC switch current is 25 mA max;(5): DC VEE current is 20 mA max;(6): DC VCC or GND current is 50 mA max; (7):storage temperature ranges from -65to+150;(8):plastic mini-pack is 500mW max when above +70 ,derate linearly with 8 mW/K;(9)power dissipation per switch is 100 mW max.
