The growth rate of the semiconductor industry reaches thirty percent in this year, which has broken the record of past ten years. Influenced by the increasing personal computer industry, the growth rate of the semiconductor industry will be only five percent in the next year, and the communication products become the important driving force for the entire industry. The ratio takes by the communication products will increase to thirty percent in the next year. The importance of the mobile DRAM and NAND flash will also increase with the emergence of smart phone.
When it comes to the silicon wafer generation process and DRAM industry, they have increased by forty percent and eighty percent in this year. But the growth rate will be 5.5% in the next year,
because the world’s economy is recovering and the base year is already very high. The Taiwan manufacturers are located near the new emerging countries; therefore, developing the low-cost products is also a good direction for them. 2010 is the best year for entire DRAM industry; therefore, the ranks of the Korean manufacturers are rising.
In order to meet the demand of the movable devices, such as the smart phone, the mobile DRAM is released in the recent years. Besides, the phone also brings challenges to the memory. The power consumption should be low, and the capacity should be large; therefore, the mobile DRAM may become the new power to lead the high-level processing. With the emergence of cloud computing, the smart phone provides all kinds of information to the data center to gain the best result. The roles played by the mobile DRAM and NAND FLASH will be more and more important. Many manufacturers try to occupy the market of NAND flash through different methods, such as expanding the capacity, using the TLC. It is predicated that the supply will exceed the demand in the next year, but the price will not change. The related integrated circuit is SG206.
