The W9952QP digital video encoder converts YCbCr (4:2:2) 8-bit data into analog composite video and Y/C video signals. It accepts ITU-601/656 or square pixel input formats, and the output video is formatted to be compatible with 525-line (M) NTSC/ PAL or 625-line (B,D,G,H,I,M,Nc) PAL TV System.
The W9952QP operates in both master or slave modes. At slave mode,the W9952QP auto detects the input video format from the HSYNCN and VSYNCN pins and generates the corresponding video signals. At master mode, It generates the required video timing internally according to the configuration.
The W9952QP has two DAC outputs which can output either two composite video signals or one Y/C S-video signal. The W9952QP doesn't output composite video and S-video simultaneously.The W9952QP can operate at power-down mode by selecting the SLEEP pin.
The W9952QP is designed to connect to MPEG1 and MPEG2 video decoders without glue logic. All video processing is done digitally and requires no external adjustment and no software programming is required.

W9952QP is designed for digital video applications,such as VCDs (Video CDs), STBs (Set-Top Box) and video games.
Figure 2 shows a typical configuration of W9952QP application.
The W9953F/W9954F is a high performance digital video encoder which converts a 4:2:2 ITU-R 601/656 digital video stream into a standard analog base band composite video and Y/C video signals, which compatible with worldwide standards.
The W9953F/ W9954F can operate in either master or slave mode and interlaced or non-interlaced mode. The on-chip 2X over sampling eases the analog post-filtering. Three 10-bit resolution D/A converters provide Y,C and CVBS signals, all in standard video-level at doubly terminated 75 W loads.
The chips provide Closed-Caption, WSS/ CGMS and teletext functions.
The W9953F also provides Macrovision 7.01 copy protection, but W9954F doesn't provide this function.
W9953F/ W9954F is designed for digital video applications, such as DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), players STBs (Set-Top Box), Multimedia PCs and other video equipment.
The W9960CF is a single chip multi-protocol high performance video CODEC offered by Winbond Electronics Corp. for video compression and decompression applications such as video-conference. It is designed for multiple standard video encoding and decoding and is available in 208-pin PQFP package.
It has the following great features: (1)built-in RISK processor core and 4.5K*22 bits program memory; (2)built-in BCH error correction and framing error detection circuitry; (3)supports both integer search and half-pixel search motion estimation; (4)supports PCI master mode to access graphics adapters for video displaying; (5)optimized for 3.3 volts operation; (6)provides audio connection to external audio DSP modules; (7)built-in filter circuit with programmable coefficients for input video enhancement.
What comes next is about its absolute maximum ratings: (1)ambient temperature: 0 to 70 ; (2)storage temperature: -40 to 125 ; (3)DC supply voltage: -0.5 V to 5 V; (4)I/O pin voltage with recpect to VSS: -0.5 V to VDD+0.5 V. The following is about its DC specifications(VDD=3.0 V to 3.6, Ta=0 to 70 ): (1)input low voltage: 0.8 V max; (2)input high voltage: 2.0 V min; (3)input capacitance: 10 pF max; (4)output capacitance: 50 pF max; (5)power supply current: 400 mA min.
