The VFC32BM is designed as voltage-to-frequency converter which provides an output frequency accurately proportional to its input voltage. The digital open-collector frequency output is compatible with all common logic families. Its integrating input characteristics give the VFC32 excellent noise immunity and low nonlinearity. Typical applications include integrating A/D converter, serial frequency output, isolated data transmission, FM analog signal mod/demod, motor speed control and tachometer.
It has five features. (1) Its operation up to 500KHz. (2) It has excellent linearity which means ±0.01% max at 10KHz FS and ±0.05% max at 100KHz FS. (3) V/F or F/V conversion. (4) Monotonic. (5) Voltage or current input. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its supply voltage would be ±22V. (2) Its output sink current would be 50mA. (3) Its output current would be +20mA. (4) Its input voltage, input would be ±supply. (5) Its input voltage, +input would be ±supply. (6) Its comparator input would be ±supply. (7) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +150°C.
Also some input V/F converter electrical characteristics about it. (1) Its positive input would be min 0V and max 0.25V. (2) Its negative input wold be min 0V and max -10V. (3) Its current range would be min 0mA and max 0.25mA. (4) Its bias current inverting input would be typ 20nA and max 100nA. (5) Its noninverting input would be typ 100nA and max 250nA. (6) Its offset voltage would be typ 1mV and max 4mV. (7) Its differential impedance would be min 300||10 k||pF and typ 650||10 k||pF.
