UPD8749HC General Description

The UPD8749HC is designed as high performance, single component, 8-bit parallel microcomputers using N-channel silicon gate MOS technology. The processors differ only in their internal program memory : it has 2K x 8 of UV erasable EPROM.

It has thirteen features. (1) External and internal interrupts. (2) 96 instructions 70 percent single byte. (3) 27 I/O lines. (4) Internal clock generator. (5) Expandable with 8080A / 8085A peripherals. (6) HMOS silicon gate technology. (7) Single +5V +/- 10 percent power supply. (8) High performance 11MHz operation. (9) Fully compatible with industry standard 8039 / 8049 / 8749. (10) Pin compatible with the UPD8048 / 8748. (11) 1.36us cycle time. All instructions 1 or 2 bytes. (12) Programmable interval timer / event counter. (13) 2K x 8 bytes of ROM, 128 x 8 bytes of RAM. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to +70°C. (2) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +150°C. (3) Its voltage on any pin would be from -0.5V to +7.0V. (4) Its power dissipation would be 1.5W. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some DC characteristics about it. (1) Its input low voltage would be min -0.5V and max 0.8V. (2) Its input high voltage would be min 2.0V and max Vcc V. (3) Its output low voltage would be max 0.45V. (4) Its output high voltage would be min 2.4V. (5) Its input leakage current would be +/-10uA for T1, EA, INT and would be max -500uA for P10-p17, P20-P27, EA, SS. (6) Its output leakage current would be max +/-10uA.
