The TBA440C is a monolithic video IF amplifier for color and monochrome television receivers. The circuit inludes three IF amplifier stages, a balance video IF detector and a gated AGC section for the IF amplifier and PNP tuner. There are some features as follows. First is high gain-high stability. The second is minimal noise increase, incurred by use of AGC. Then is minimum RF breakthrough to video outputs. Next is fast AGC action-gating largely independent of pulse shape and amplitude. The fifth is very low intermodulation products. Besides, positive and negative video signals are available from low impedance outputs. The last one is intergrated temperature compensating circuit.
What comes next is about the maximum ratings. The VCC (supply voltage) is 15 V. The current into pin 14 is 50 mA. The power dissipation is 700 mW. The maximum resistance between pins 8 and 9 is 20. The Topr (operating temperature) is from -25 to +70. The Tstg (storage temperature) is from -65 to +150. The lead temperature (soldering, 10 seconds) is 300.
The following is about the electrical characteristics (TA=25, VCC=13 V, I14=40 mA, unless otherwise specified). The minimum I13 (current consumption) is 14.5 mA, the typical is 17.5 V and the maximum is 20.5 V when V13=15 V. The minimum V11 (DC voltage at output) is 5.5 V, the typical is 7 V and the maximum is 8.5 V at VIN=0 V. The minimum V14 (internal supply voltage) is 5.5 V, the typical is 6.0 V and the maximum is 6.8 V at I14=40 mA, VIN=0.
