The MAX3221EAE+ is one member of the MAX3221 family which is designed as the 1A supply-current, true +3V to +5.5V RS-232 transceivers with autoshut-down. This device is 3Vpowered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces intended for notebook computer applications such as notebook, subnotebook, and palmtop computers; battery-powered equipment; hand-held equipment; peripherals and printers. Also this device requires only 0.1F capacitors in 3.3V operation, and can operate from input voltages ranging from +3.0V to +5.5V.
Features of the MAX3221EAE+ are:(1)1A supply current achieved with autoshutdown; (2)small 0.1F capacitors; (3)true RS-232 operation from Vcc = +3.0V to +5.5V; (4)meets EIA/TIA-562 specifications down to 2.7V; (5)guaranteed 120kbps data rate; (6)6V/s min guaranteed slew rate; (7)smallest single-supply RS-232 transceiver.
The absolute maximum ratings of the MAX3221EAE+ can be summarized as:(1)Vcc:-0.3V to +6V;(2)V+:-0.3V to +7V;(3)V-:+0.3V to -7V;(4)V+ + |V-|:+13 V;(5)lead temperature (soldering, 10sec):+300°C;(6)storage temperature range:-65°C to +150°C;(7)operating temperature ranges:-40°C to +85°C.
