The Z86E11 microcomputer introduces a new level of sophistication to single-chip architecture.Compared to earlier single-chip microcomputers,the Z86E11 offers faster execution;more efficient use of memory;more sophisticated interrupt,input/output and bit-manipulation capabilities;and easier system expansion.

The Z86E11 has some features such as:(1)complete microcomputer;(2)4K bytes of EPROM;(3)128 bytes of RAM;(4)32 I/O lines;(5)up to 60K bytes addressable external space each for program and data memory;(6)fully compatible with standard ROM version;(7)144-byte register file,including 124 general purpose registers,4 I/O port registrs and 16 status and control registers;(8)minimum instruction execution time 1 us,at 12 MHz;(9)vectored priority interrupts for I/O,counter/timers and UART;(10)full-duplex UART and two programmable 8-bit counter/timers,each with a 6-bit programmable prescaler.etc.
