The XRD9827 is a 3-channel, 12-bit linear (A/D) processor for Contact Image Sensor (CIS) and Charged Coupled Device (CCD) systems. It combines the analog front end (AFE) with the analog-to-digital functions on a single chip.
It offers a low-cost, highly integrated solution for (CIS) scanners and copiers that have resolutions up to 600 DPI.
The XRD9827 also offers a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) mode. It is suitable for 3-channel CCD applications in pixel-by-pixel mode. An internal clamp sets the proper black level for CCD outputs.Applications include sheet-fed and flat-bed scanners, multifunction products (combining copier, fax and scanner functions), digital copiers, bar code readers, and fingerprint scanners.
The XRD9827 has a mux, S&H, CDS, and 12-bit A/D.
In addition to 12-bit resolution and speeds up to 6 MSPS, the XRD9827 offers 3V and 5V operation. It is the lowest cost solution available today.
