XR82C684

The XR82C684 is designed as one kind of dual universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter (DUART) that is fabricated using advanced two layer metal, with a high performance density EPI / CMOS 1.8 process to provide high performance and low power consumption, and is packaged in a 40 pin PDIP, a 28 pin PDIP, and a 44 pin PLCC. This device can be used in multimedia syatems, serial to parallel / parallel to serial converter and DTE for modem communica-tion systems applications.

Features of the XR82C684 are:(1)two full duplex, independent channels;(2)asynchronous receiver and transmitter;(3)quadruple-buffered receivers and dual buffered transmitters;(4)programmable stop bits in 1/16 bit increments;(5)internal bit rate generators with more than 23 bit rates;(6)external clock capability;(7)multi-function 16 bit counter / timer;(8)interrupt output with eight maskable interrupt conditions;(9)on-chip oscillator for crystal;(10)advanced CMOS low power technology.
