     The XR-320 monolithic timing circuit is designed for use in instrumentation and digital communications equipment, and for a wide variety of industrial control and special testing applications. In many cases, this circuit provides a monolithic repalcement for mechanical or electromechanical timing devices. The XR-320 timing circuit generates precise timing pulses(or time delays) whose repetition(or length) is determined by an external timing resistor, R, and timing capacitor,C. 
     XR-320 has many unique features: The first one is wide timing range which is 1 sec to 1 hour. The second one is high accuracy which is 1%. The third one is excellent temperature stability which is 100 ppm/. The forth one is wide supply voltage range which is from 4.5 V to 18 V . The fifth one is triggering with positive or negative-going pulses. The sixth one is it is programmable: resistor programming which is 3 decades and capcacitor program which is 9 decades. The seventh one is logic compatible outputs. The eighth one is high current drive capability which is 100 mA. Beseides, it also has seven applications : The first one is precision timing. Thesecond one is time-delay generation. The third one is sequential timing. The forth one is pulse generation/shaping. The fifth one is pulse-position modulation. The sixth one is pulse-width modulation. The seventh one is sweep generation.
    Then, there are also some absolute maximum ratings about XR-320. Power supply is 18 V. Internal power dissipation is 750 mW. plastic package is 6225 mW. Derate is 5 mW/ when the temperature is above +25. Storage temperature range is from -65 to +150.
     At last , we should also pay more attention to its electrical characteristics. Supply voltage is 4.5 Vdc min and 18 Vdc max. Quiescent supply current is 2.0 mA typ and 3.5 mA max when V+ is 5 v. Quiescent supply current is 6.0 mA typ and 7.0 mA max when V+ is 12 v.Quiescent supply current is 10.0 mA typ and 12.0 mA max when V+ is 18 v. Timing cycle supply current is 2.5 mA typ and 4.0 mA max when V+ is 5 V. Timing cycle supply current is 6.5 mA typ and 8.0 mA max when V+ is 12 V.Timing cycle supply current is 12.5 mA typ and 14.0 mA max when V+ is 18 V.
