XE2004 is a high precision capcacitance-to-voltage converter, based on an analogsignal path with digital programmable gain, offset and non-linearity. A low-power, low-voltage device, XE2004 provides power-on-reset and sensor overload detection. The XE2004 is available as dice and in 16 pin SOIC.The XE2004 implements a capacitance-to-voltage conversion. The output voltage is proportional to the supply voltage, and to a linearized expression including the sensor capcacitances and supply voltage. The XE2004 is composed of two stages. The first stage is a capcacitance-to-voltage converter.It is based on a floating charge amplifier architecture, This allows the IC to operate only with capcacitive sensors that have lelctrically floating electrodes. The second stage is a programmable gain amplifier.
XE2004 has seven applications : The first one is micro-machined sensors and MEMS; The second one is single and differntial capacitive sensors; The third one is touch sensors; The forth one is flow sensors and fluid control; The fifth one is pressure sensors; The sixth one is gas and humidity sensors; The seventh one is portable, battery operated sensors.
