Description

The WM8720 is a high performance stereo DAC designedfor audio applications such as CD, DVD, home theatresystems, set top boxes and digital TV. The WM8720supports data input word lengths from 16 to 24-bits andsampling rates up to 96kHz. The WM8720 consists of aserial interface port, digital interpolation filter, multi-bitsigma delta modulator and stereo DAC in a small 20-pinSSOP package. The WM8720 also includes a digitallycontrollable mute and attenuator function on each channel.

The WM8720 supports a variety of connection schemes foraudio DAC control. The SPI-compatible serial control portprovides access to a wide range of features including onchipmute, attenuation and phase reversal. A hardwarecontrollable interface is also available.

The programmable data input port supports a variety ofglueless interfaces to popular DSPs, audio decoders andS/PDIF and AES/EBU receivers.
