The VFQ-1 is a kind of low cost, monolithic voltage-to-frequency converter combining bipolar and CMOS technologies. The VFQ-1 accepts a positive analog input current and produces an output pulse train with a frequency linearly proportional to an input current. The full-scale output pulse rate can be set from 10 kHz to 100 kHz by means of two external capacitors.
There are some features of VFQ-1 as follows: (1)10 kHz to 100 kHz FS; (2)single- or dual-supply operation; (3)open collector output; (4)pulse and square wave outputs; (5)operates as V/F or F/V.
The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of VFQ-1: (1)supply voltage, pin 4 to pin 14; 18 V; (2)input current, pin 3: ±10 mA; (3)output voltage, pins 8 to 10: +25 V; (4)reference (pin 7) to -VSS: ±1.5 V; (5)positive supply (pin 14): +4.0 to +7.5 V; (6)negative supply (pin 4): -4.0 to -7.5 V; (7)quiescent current, max: ±4 mA; (8)operating temperature range: 0 to +70 for suffix C and -25 to +85 for suffix R; (9)storage temperature range: -65 to +150.
