The USR1171 is designed as one kind of microsemi 400mW ultra-stable reference diodes which offers a certified reference voltage stability as measured over an actual operating period of 1000 hours. Standard stabilities are 10, 20, and 50 PPM/100 hours. Units having stabilities of less than 5 ppm/100- hours are available on special request.
Ultra-stable certified reference diodes, USR1171, available in standard or radiation hardened construction can be used in any circuit that requires a stable reference voltage that is insensitive to shock, vibration, or position. Their inherent stability allows them to be used in circuits requiring an extremely high degree of voltage time stability such as those in digital voltmeters, conputers, X-Y recorders, missile guidance and environmental control systems and portable reference standards.Where accurate and reliable measurements are be made, the microsemi "ultra-stable" diode excels as the standard reference device.
Some absolute maximum ratings of USR1171 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its operating temperature range would be from -65°C to 175°C. (2)Its maximum lead temperature 1/8+/-1/32 inch from case for 8 seconds would be 230°C. (3)Its maximum DC power dissipation at or below 50°C ambient would be 400mW. (4)Its linear derating would be 3.2mW/°C. (5)Its maximum steady state current at 150°C would be 7.5mA. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of USR1171 are concluded as follow. (1)Its nominal zener voltage would be 11.7V. (2)Its zener test current would be 7.5mA.
