The UM9151-3 is designed as pulse dialer which is a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit which converts pushbutton inputs to a series of pulses suitable for telephone dialing. It is intended to replace mechanical telephone dialers and can operate directly from telephone lines.
UM9151-3 has many features. The first one is direct telephone line operation. The second one is 4 x 3 matrix keyboard interface. The third one is supply voltage range 2.0V to 5.5V. The fourth one is inexpensive RC oscillator. The fifth one is low power standby mode for redial. The sixth one is 22-digit capacity for redial. The seventh one is redial with ether * or # key. The eighth one is dialer reset for line power break larger than 200msec. The ninth one is inter-digit pause 800ms. The tenth one is selectable make/break ratio.
