The UM3750A is designed as programmable encode / decoder which is a CMOS / LSI digital code transmitter-receiver system. Working in the transmit (encoder) mode, it will sequentially encode and transmit 12 bits of input, each of the 12 bits may be 1 or 0 to allow 4096 different codes.
UM3750A has eight features. (1) Single chip contains both encoder and decoder. (2) 3V to 11V operation. (3) On chip oscillator uses non-critical RC components. (4) Cross interference of receiver is virtually eliminated by circuitry which requires 4 valid words to be received, each within 64ms of the other. (5) Schmitt trigger input provides excellent noise immunity. (6) Applications include alarm control system, security system, cordless telephone, remote control. (7) Interfaces with RF, ultrasonic, or infrared modulators and demodulators. (8) 2^12 = 4096 different codes. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UM3750A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its power supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 11V. (2) Its operating temperature would be from -20°C to +70°C. (3) Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +150°C. (4) Its applied voltage on any pin would be from GND-0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. It should be noted that stress above those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device.
