The UDN2916B-T is designed as one member of the 2916 series which are dual full-bridge PWM motor drivers to drive both windings of a bipolar stepper motor or bidirectionally control two dc motors. Both bridges are capable of sustaining 45V and include internal pulse-width modulation (PWM) control of the output current to 750mA. The outputs have been optimized for a low output saturation voltage drop (less than 1.8V total source plus sink at 500mA).
UDN2916B-T has seven features. (1)750mA continuous output current. (2)45V output sustaining voltage. (3)Internal clamp diodes. (4)Internal PWM current control. (5)Low output saturation voltage. (6)Internal thermal shutdown circuitry. (7)Similar to dual PBL3717, UC3770. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UDN2916B-T have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its motor supply voltage would be 45V. (2)Its output current would be +1.0A for peak and would be +750mA for continuous. (3)Its logic supply voltage would be 7.0V. (4)Its logic input voltage range would be from -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (5)Its output emitter voltage would be 1.5V. (6)Its operating temperature range would be from -20°C to +85°C. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of UDN2916B-T are concluded as follow. (1)Its motor supply range would be min 10V and max 45V. (2)Its output leakage current would be typ 1.0uA and max 50uA. (3)Its output sustaining voltage would be min 45V. (4)Its output saturation voltage would be typ 0.4V and max 0.6V for sink driver, Iout=+500mA and would be typ 1.0V and max 1.2V for sink driver and Iout=+750mA.
