The UDN2841 is designed as one kind of quadruple high current darlington drivers. It is monolithic bipolar devices especially for high-current, high voltage peripheral driver applications. It is designed to offer solutions to interface problems involving electronic-discharge printers, bipolar and unlpolar DC motor drivers, telephone relays, LEDs, pin diodes and other high-current loads operating from negative power supplies.
It has eight features. (1)For use with negative supplies. (2)Current sink. (3)Output current capability 1.5A. (4)High output voltage capability 50V. (5)Preamplifier for high current gain. (6)Inpouts compatible with TTL and 5V CMOS. (7)Reliable monolithic construction. (8)Designed to be interchangeable with sprague UDN2841. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UDN2841 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its collector to emitter voltage would be 50V. (2)Its supply voltage would be 10V. (3)Its input voltage would be 10V. (4)Its substrate voltage would be -50V. (5)Its peak output current would be 1.75A. (6)Its total power dissipation 25°C free-air temperature would be 2075mW. (7)Its operating free-air temperature range would be from -20°C to 85°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. (9)Its lead temperature 1.6mm (1/16 inch) from case for 10 seconds would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
