The UCC3952PW is designed as one kind of single cell lithium-lon battery protection IC that increases the useful operating life of a one-cell rechargeable battery pack. This device features include an on-chip MOSFET for reduced external component count and a charge pump for reduced power losses while charging or discharging a low-cellvoltage battery pack.

Features of the UCC3952PW are:(1)protects sensitive lithium-ion cells from overcharging and over-discharging; (2)dedicated for one-cell applications; (3)integrated low-impedance mosfet switch and sense resistor; (4)precision trimmed overcharge and overdischarge voltage limits; (5)extremely low power drain; (6)3-A current capacity; (7)overcurrent and short-circuit protection; (8)reverse charger protection; (9)thermal protection.

The absolute maximum ratings of the UCC3952PW can be summarized as:(1)Supply voltage (PACK+ to BNEG): 7 V;(2)Maximum forward voltage (PACK+ to PACK): 16 V;(3)Maximum reverse voltage (where PACK+ to BNEG = 5V):8 V;(4)Maximum cell continuous charge current: 3 A;(5)Junction temperature:55°C to 150°C;(6)Storage Temperature range:65°C to 150°C.
