The UC2708N is designed as one kind of dual non-inverting power drivers which is made with a high-speed, high voltage, schottky process to interface control functions and high-power switching devices-particularly power MOSFETs. It contains two independent channels. The A and B inputs are compatible with TTL and CMOS logic families, but can withstand input voltages as high as VIN. Each output can source or sink up to 3A as long as power dissipation limits are not exceeded.
UC2708N has eleven features. (1)3.0A peak current totem pole output. (2)5 to 35V operation. (3)25ns rise and fall times. (4)25ns propagation delays. (5)Thermal shutdown and under voltage protection. (6)High-speed, power MOSFET compatible. (7)Efficient high frequency operation. (8)Low cross-conduction current spike. (9)Enable and shutdown functions. (10)Wide input voltage range. (11)ESD protection to 2kV. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UC2708N have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be 35V. (2)Its output current (each output, source or sink) would be 0.5A for steady-state and would be 3A for peak transient. (3)Its output voltage would be from -0.3V to Vin+0.3V. (4)Its enable and shutdown inputs would be from -0.3v to 6.2V. (5)Its A and B inputs would be from -0.3V to Vin+0.3V. (6)Its operating junction temperature would be 150°C. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (8)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 300°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of UC2708N are concluded as follow. (1)Its supply current would be typ 18mA and max 26mA for output low and would be typ 14mA and max 18mA for output high and would be typ 1mA and max 4mA for enable=0V. (2)Its enable input current low would be min -600uA and typ -460uA and max 200uA. (3)Its enable input current high would be max 200uA. And so on.
