The UB8CT is designed as one kind of ultrafast rectifiers for use in high frequency rectification and freewheeling application in switching mode converters and inverters for consumer computer, automotive and telecommunication applications.
UB8CT has seven features. (1)Oxide planar chip junction. (2)Ultrafast recovery time. (3)Low switching losses, high efficiency. (4)High forward surge capability. (5)Meets MSL level 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 245°C (for TO-263AB package). (6)Solder dip 260°C, 40s (for TO-220AC and ITO-220AC package). (7)Compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and in accordance to WEEE 2002/96/EC. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UB8CT have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage would be 150V. (2)Its maximum average forward rectified current would be 8.0V. (3)Its peak forward surge current 8.3ms single half sine-wave superimposed on rated load would be 100A. (4)Its isolation voltage would be 1500V. (5)Its operating junction and storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of UB8CT are concluded as follow. (1)Its instantaneous forward voltage would be typ 0.90V at If=5A, Ta=25°C and would be typ 1.12V at If=20A, Ta=25°C and would be typ 0.72V at If=5A, Ta=150°C and would be typ 0.99V at If=20A, Ta=150°C. (2)Its reverse current would be max 10uA at Ta=25°C and would be typ 200uA and max 500uA at Ta=100°C. (3)Its reverse recovery time would be typ 15ns and max 20ns with conditions of If=0.5A, Ir=1.0A, Irr=0.25A. (4)Its storage charge would be typ 7.1nC at If=1.0A, dl/dt=100A/us, Vr=30V, Irr=0.1Irm. (5)Its typical junction capacitance would be typ 25pF. (6)Its typical thermal resistance from junction to case would be 4.0°C/W. And so on. At present we have not got so much information about this IC and we would try hard to get more information about it. If you have any question or suggestion or want to know more information about UB8CT please contact us for details. Thank you!
