The UA7912CK is designed as one member of the UA7900 series which is monolithic 3-terminal negative regulators. UA7912CK is manufactured using the fairchild planer epitaxial process. These negative regulators are intended as complements to the popular UA7800 series of positive voltage regulators, and they are available in the same voltage options from -5V to -24V. The 7900s employ internal current limiting, safe-area protection, and thermal shutdown, making them virtually indestructible.
UA7912CK has six features. (1) Output current in excess of 1A. (2) Internal thermal overload protection. (3) Internal short circuit current limiting. (4) Output transistor safe area compensation. (5) Available in the TO-220 and the TO-3 package. (6) Output voltages are 12V. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of UA7912CK have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage would be -35V. (2) Its internal power dissipation is internally limited.
