The TSOP98260 is designed as a miniaturized sensor for receiving the modulated signal of infrared remote control systems. A pin diode and preamplifier are assembled on a lead frame, the epoxy package is designed as an IR filter. The modulated output signal, carrier out, can be used for code learning applications.
TSOP98260 has nine features. (1)Photo detector and preamplifier in one package. (2)AC coupled response from 20kHz to 60kHz, all data formats. (3)Improved shielding against electrical field disturbance. (4)TTL and CMOS compatibility. (5)Output active low. (6)Supply voltage: 2.7V to 5.5V. (7)Carrier out signal for code learning functions. (8)Lead (Pb)-free component. (9)Component in accordance to RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TSOP98260 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage (pin 3) would be from -0.3V to +5.5V. (2)Its output voltage (pin 1) would be from -0.3V to Vs+0.3V. (3)Its output current (pin 1) would be 10mA. (4)Its junction temperature would be 100°C. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -25 to +85°C. (6)Its operating temperature range would be from -25 to +85°C. (7)Its soldering temperature at t10s, 1mm from case would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
