The TRSL-8340W-CXX0G series single mode transceivers is small form factor, low power, high performance module for bi-directional serial optical data communications such as 4x/2x/1x Fibre Channel and 1000BASE-LX Gigabit Ethernet. This 2×7 pin SFF transceiver complywith the 2×5 standard package defined by the SFF MSA with the exception of four extra pins for real-time digital diagnostics and transmitter fault indication. Digital diagnostic functions are available via the 2-wire serial interface defined in the SFF-8472 MSA. This module is designed for single mode fiber and operates at a nominal wavelength of CWDM wavelength. There are eighteen center wavelengths available from 1270 nm to 1610 nm, with each step 20 nm. A guaranteed minimum optical link budget of 18 dB is offered. The transmitter section uses a multiple quantum well CWDM DFB laser and is a class 1 laser compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC-60825. The receiver section uses an integrated InGaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) of the TRSL-8340W-CXX0G mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC. A PECL logic interface simplifies interface to external circuitry.
