TQ8501

The TQ8501 is designed as one kind of fast acquisition serial transceiver and it is produced by Triquint Semiconductor,inc.It is a single-chip,full-duplex solution for high-speed point-to-point serial link data communications.The parallel interface is designed for operations with a FIFO or user-strobed system data bus.The TQ8501 provides on-chip clock generation for both transmitter(TX) and receiver(RX) functions that is phase/frequency locked to a local 50MHz TTL reference clock input.An optional mode using an external highspeed clock source is also provided,which allows a broader range of applications.

The TQ8501 has some features:(1)up to 1010-Mb/s serial data rate 18-bit parallel interface;(2)enhanced link capabilities:link synchronization<20 ns,continuous phase tracking,low link overhead;(3)monolithic PLL clock generation:separate TX and RX PLLs,integrated loop filters;(4)flexible data flow control;(5)TTL with internal pull-up resistor on inputs;(6)differential PECL serial data I/O.Also the TQ8501 can be used in switched serial links(LAN/WAN routers,switches) and point-to-point data links.
