The TPS54974PWP is designed as one member of the SWIFT family of dc/dc regulators. TPS54974PWP is low-input voltage, high-output current synchronous buck PWM converter integrates all required active components. Included on the substrate with the listed features are a true, high-performance, voltage error amplifier that enables maximum performance under transient conditions and flexibility in choosing the output filter L and C components. TPS54974PWP applications include low-voltage, high-density systems with power distributed at 2.5V, 3.3V available, point-of-load regulation for high-performance DSPs, FPGAs, ASICs, and microprocessors, broadband, networking, and optical communications infrastructure and portable computing / notebook PCs.
TPS54974PWP has eight features. (1) Low voltage separate power bus. (2) 15m MOSFET switches for high efficiency at 9-A continuous output. (3) Adjustable output voltage. (4) Externally compensated with 1% internal reference accuracy. (5) Fast transient response. (6) Wide PWM frequency: adjustable 280 kHz to 700 kHz. (7) Load protected by peak current limit and thermal shutdown. (8) Integrated solution reduces board area and total cost. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TPS54974PWP have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for SS/ENA and would be from -0.3V to 6V for RT and would be from -0.3V to 4V for VSENSE and from -0.3V to 4.5V for PVIN,VIN and would be from -0.3V to 10V for BOOT. (2) Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VBIAS, COMP, PWRGD and would be from -0.6V to 6V for PH. (3) Its source current would be 6mA fr COMP, VBIAS. (4) Its sink current would be 16A for PH and 6mA for COMP and 10mA for SS/ENA, PWRGD. (5) Its voltage differential would be +/-0.3V.
