The TPS54973PWP is designed as a member of the SWIFT family of dc/dc regulators which are low-input voltage high-output current synchronous buck PWM converter integrates all required active components. Included on the substrate with the listed features are a true, high performance, voltage error amplifier that enables maximum performance and flexibility in choosing the output filter L and C components. TPS54973PWP applications include low voltage, high-density distributed power systems, point of load regulation for high performance DSPs, FPGAs, ASICs and microprocessors, broadband, networking and optical communications infrastructure and power PC series processors.
TPS54973PWP has seven features. (1) 15m MOSFET switches for high efficiency at 9-A continuous output spurce or sink current. (2) Disabled current sinking during start-up. (3) 0.9V to 2.5V adjustable output voltage range with 1.0% accuracy. (4) Wide PWM frequency fixed 350kHz, 550kHz or adjustable 280 kHz to 700 kHz. (5) Synchronizable to 700 kHz. (6) Load protected by peak current limit and thermal shutdown. (7) Integrated solution reduces board area and component count. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TPS54973PWP have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 4.5V for VIN and would be from -0.3V to 7V for SS/ENA, SYNC and would be from -0.3V to 6V for RT and from -0.3V to 4V for VSENSE and would be from -0.3V to 10V for BOOT. (2) Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VBIAS, COMP, PWRGD and would be from -0.6V to 6V for PH. (3) Its source current would be 6mA fr COMP, VBIAS. (4) Its sink current would be 16A for PH and 6mA for COMP and 10mA for SS/ENA, PWRGD. (5) Its voltage differential would be +/-0.3V. (6) Its operating virtual junction temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (7) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C.
