The TPS54880PWP is designed as a member of the SWIFT family of dc/dc regulators which are low-input voltage high-output current synchronous buck PWM converter integrates all required active components. Using the TRACKIN pin with other regulators, simultaneous power up and down are easily implemented. Included on the substrate with the listed features are a true, high performance, voltage error amplifier that enables maximum performance and flexibility in choosing the output filter L and C components. TPS54880PWP applications include low-voltage, high-density distributed power systems, point of load regulation for high performance DSPs, FPGAs, ASICs and microprocessors requiring sequencing and broadband, networking and optical communications infrastructure.
TPS54880PWP has six features. (1) Power up/down tracking for sequencing. (2) 30-m, 12A peak MOSFET switches for high efficiency at 8A continuous output source or sink current. (3) Wide PWM frequency fixed 350 kHz or adjustable 280 kHz to 700 kHz. (4) Power good and enable. (5) Load protected by peak current limit and thermal shutdown. (6) Integrated solution reduces board area and component count. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TPS54880PWP have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VIN, ENA and would be from -0.3V to 6V for RT and would be from -0.3V to 4V for VSENSE, TRACKIN and would be from -0.3V to 17V for BOOT. (2) Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VBIAS, COMP, PWRGD and would be from -0.6V to 10V for PH. (3) Its source current would be 6mA for COMP, VBIAS. (4) Its sink current would be 12A for PH and 6mA for COMP and 10mA for SS/ENA, PWRGD. (5) Its voltage differential would be +/-0.3V. (6) Its operating virtual junction temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (7) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C.
