The TPS54872PWP is designed as a member of the SWIFT family of dc/dc regulators which are low-input voltage high-output current synchronous-buck PWM converter integrates all required active components. Included on the substrate with the listed features are a true, high performance, voltage error amplifier that enables maximum performance under transient conditions and flexibility in choosing the output filter L and C components. TPS54872PWP applications include DDR memory termination voltage, active termination of GTL and SSTL high-speed logic families, DAC controlled high current output stage and precision point of load power supply.
TPS54872PWP has six features. (1) Tracks externally applied reference voltage. (2) 30m MOSFET switches for high efficiency at 8-A continuous output source or sink current. (3) 6% to 90% VI output tracking range. (4) Wide PWM frequency fixed 350 kHz or adjustable 280 kHz to 700 kHz. (5) Load protected by peak current limit and thermal shutdown. (6) Integrated solution reduces board area and total cost. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TPS54872PWP have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VIN, ENA and would be from -0.3V to 6V for RT and would be from -0.3V to 4V for VSENSE, REFIN and would be from -0.3V to 17V for BOOT. (2) Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V for VBIAS, COMP, STATUS and would be from -0.6V to 10V for PH. (3) Its source current would be 6mA for COMP, VBIAS.
