The TPS51221 is a dual synchronous buck regulator controller with 2 LDOs. It is optimized for 5V/3.3V system controller, enabling designers to cost effectively complete 2-cells to 4-cells notebook system power supply. TPS51221 supports high efficiency, fast transient response and 99% duty cycle operation. Typical applications include notebook computer system and I/O bus, point of load in LCD TV, MFP.
TPS51221 has sixteen features. (1)Input voltage range: 4.5V to 28V. (2)Output voltage range: 1V to 12V. (3)Selectable light load operation (continuous/ auto skip/ out-of-audio skip). (4)Programmable droop compensation. (5)Voltage servo adjustable soft start. (6)200kHz to 1MHz fixed frequency PWM. (7)Current mode architecture. (8)180° phase shift between channels. (9)Resistor or inductor DCR current sensing. (10)Powergood output for each channel. (11)OCL/ OVP/ UVP/ UVLO protections. (12)Current monitor output for CH1. (13)Thermal shutdown (non-latch). (2)Its output voltage range would be from -2V to 35V for DRVH1, DRVH2 and would be from -0.3V to 7V for DRVL1, DRVL2, COMP1, COMP2, VREG5, RF, VREF2, IMON1 PGOOD1, PGOOD2 and would be from -0.3V to 3.6V for VREG3. (3)Its operating junction temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C.
