The TPM754 is designed as small package, low cost, ROM-coded 80C51 with IBM's Trackpoint pointing algorithms and control code. TrackPoint is the result of years of human factors reseach and innovation at IBM. The result is a "velocity sensitive" pointing solution more efficient and easier to use than "position sensitive" devices such as the mouse, the trackball, or the touchpad.
TPM754 has nine features. The first one is 80C51-based architecture. The next one is small package sizes - 28-pin SSOP. The next one is power control modes include idle mode and power-down mode. The next one is 256 X 8 RAM. The next one is two 16-bit auto reloadable counter/timers. The next one is single module PCA counter/timer. The next one is it has full duplex serial channel.
