The TODX283 is a fiber optic transceiving module for duplex digital signal communication.Optical modules are comprised of internal semiconductor devices. However, in principle, optical modules are optical components. During soldering, ensure that flux does not contact with the emitting surface or the detecting surface. Also ensure that proper flux removal is conducted after soldering.
The TODX283 has the following features including:(1)data rate:DC to 50 Mb/s (NRZ code); (2)transmission distance:up to 10 m (APF),up to 100 m (PCF); (3)ceramic package type; (4)TTL interface; (5)atc (automatic threshold control) circuit is used for stabilized output at wide range of optical power level; (6)for PN and F07 type connector.This module is ceramic packaged which internal device is hollow so that the wire is not fixed to the device.This structure is not relatively sound against vibration and shock.Attention must be paid to the design of the mechanism for applications which are subject to large amounts of vibration.When using solvent for flux removal, do not use a high acid or high alkali solvent.Be careful not to pour solvent in to the optical connector ports. If solvent is inadvertently poured in to them, clean it off using cotton tips.
The absolute maximum ratings of the TODX283 are:(1)storage temperature:-40 to 85; (2)operating temperature:-10 to 70; (3)collector power dissipation:220W; (4)low level output current:20mA; (5)supply voltage:-0.5 to 7V;(6)input voltage:-0.5 to Vcc+0.5V;(7)high level output current:-1mA.The maximum ratings are the limit values which must not be exceeded during operation of device. None of these rating value must not be exceeded. If the maximum rating value is exceeded, the characteristics of devices may never be restored properly. In extreme cases, the device may be permanently damages.The lifetime of light emitters is greatly influenced by the operating conditions and the environment in which it is used as well as by the lifetime characteristics unique to the device type.Thus, when a light emitting device and its operating conditions determined, Toshiba recommend that lifetime characteristics be checked.
