TDF8551J

The TDF8551J is designed as one kind of complementary quad audio power amplifier device that can be used in car radios and CD/MD player applications. And this device contains four amplifiers configured in Bridge-Tied Load (BTL) to drive four speakers: two front and two rear channels.

Features of the TDF8551J are:(1)Can drive a 2 load with a battery voltage of up to 16 V and a 4 load with a battery voltage of up to 18 V; (2)DC load detection: open, short and present; (3)AC load (tweeter) detection; (4)Programmable clip detect; 1 % or 3 %; (5)Programmable thermal protection pre-warning; (6)Independent short-circuit protection for each channel; (7)Selectable line driver (20 dB) and amplifier mode (26 dB); (8)Loss-of-ground and open VP safe; (9)All outputs protected from short-circuit to ground, to VP or across the load; (10)All pins protected from short-circuit to ground; (11)Soft thermal-clipping to prevent audio holes; (12)Low battery detection.

The absolute maximum ratings of the TDF8551J can be summarized as:(1)operating supply voltage: 8 to 18 V;(2)total quiescent current: 280 to 400 mA;(3)maximum output power: 39 to 69 W;(4)total harmonic distortion: 0.01 to 0.1 %.
