TDA2140

      The TDA2140 is amonolithic integrated circuit for regenerating and processing the subcarrier reference signals in the decoder circuit of PAL colour TV receivers.It is encapsulated in a 16-lead dual in-line plastic and its main features are:The first one is high stability of the subcarrier oscillator with supply voltageand temperature variations.The second one is high noise immunity in ACC and APC circuits obtained by means of detectors activated only during key pulse.The third one is high noise immunity in identification circuit.The fourth one is integrated 90° phase shifter.The fifth one is no adjustments of ACC (automatic color control)needed.The sixth one is hysteresis in coulor killer circuit.The seventh one is internal circuit,driven by flyback pulse,generated a coposite blanking and burst key pulse.The eighth one is when the antenna signal decreases,the saturstion of the chroma signal is automatically reduced before colour killer action.The ninth one is colour killer activated if the antenna signal is too low,if the oscillator is not locked,if the burst is absent or if PAL identification is wrong.
      The TDA2140  has some information about absolute maximum ratings.The supply xoltage (pin 2) is 15V.The voltage at pin 15 is +12 and -50 V.The total power dissipation at Tamb   70  is 800mW.The storage temperature is -55 to 150 .The operating temperature is 0 to 70 .
      The REF.(B-Y) signal is obtained from the oscillator wavefrom by means of an opertional amplifier with capaactive feedback , which guaranteers a 90° phase shift with +-5° accuracy.Pin 1 has low output impedance and shows a triangular wavefrom.The operating supply voltage of the device ranges from 10.8 V to 13.2 V.
