The TCM5094 is designed as tone encoder CMOS ntegrated circuit which specifically to generate the dial tones used in dual-tone telephone dialing systems. It requires a sine-wave input normally supplied by a low-cost TV color-burst crystal at 3.579545MHz to generate eight different audio sinusoidal frequencies.

TCM5094 has many features. (1)Low cost TV color-burst crystal sine-wave input produces highly accurate and stable tones. (2)Device powered directly by telephone or small satteries. (3)Keyboard or electronic input capability. (4)Dual-tone and single-tone capability. (5)Minimal stardby power requirement. (6)Total harmonic distortion meets industry standards. (7)PEP3 processing available. (8)Wide supply-voltage range. (9)Minimum parts required. And so on.

Some absolute maximum ratings TCM5094 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage Vdd would be 13.5V. (2)Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (3)Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (4)Its continuous power dissipation at 25°C free-air temperature would be 1150mW. (5)Its operating free-air temperature range would be from -30°C to 70°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. (7)Its lead temperature 1.6mm (1/16 inch) from case for 10 seconds would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
