The TCA4500A is designed as a phase-locked loop stereo decoder which incorporates a variable channel separation control. In this TCA4500A IC, the sensitivity to the third harmonics of both the pilot and subcarrier frequencies has been eliminated due to the use of appropriate, digitlly generated waveforms in the phase-locked loop and decoder sections.
TCA4500A has three features. (1)Low distortion. (2)Excellent rejection of ARI subcarrier and pilot tone harmonics. (3)No need for coils. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TCA4500A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be 16V. (2)Its lamp drive voltage (lamp OFF) would be 30V. (3)Its lamp current would be 100mA. (4)Its channel separation control voltage would be 10V. (5)Its junction temperature would be 150°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (7)Its thermal resistance (sytem-air) would be 90K/W. (8)Its supply voltage range would be from 8V to 16V. (9)Its ambient temperature range would be from -25°C to 85°C.
