TC9244P

The TC9244P is designed as an LSI for infrared remote control receiving. It is used for remote control of devices such as audio system, TVs, VTRs, CD players. Remote control systems are easily constructed using TC9244P in combination with transmitting LSIs TC9243P and TC9243F.

TC9244P has four features. (1)Basic function 9 which means hold pulse function 7 and cyclic pulse function 2. (2)3 functions out of 7 hold pulse functions are shift key outputs and can be output in parallel with other outputs corresponding to double-pushed signal sent from sending side. (3)1 function out of 2 cyclic pulse functions can be control outputs using an external key in addition to control by remote control signal. (4)8bit system codes are detected. System codes permitting signal receiving can be set up to 4 bits. Interference with other equipment can be thus prevented. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of TC9244P have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 6.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from GND-0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (3)Its power dissipation would be 350mW. (4)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of TC9244P are concluded as follow. (1)Its operating supply voltage would be min 4.5V and max 5.5V. (2)Its oscillation frequency would be min 400kHz and max 800kHz. (3)Its input voltage high level would be min 0.7Vdd and max Vdd. (4)Its input voltage low level would be min 0V and max 0.3Vdd. (5)Its input leakage current would be min -1.0uA and max 1.0uA. (6)Its output current would be min -1.0mA and typ -4.0mA for high and would be min 1.0mA and typ 8.0mA for low. And so on.
