The SN54198 8-bit shift registers are compatible with most other TTL and MSI logic families.All inputs are buffered to lower the drive requirements to one normalized series 54 load,and input clamping diodes minimize switching transients to simplify system design.Maximum input clock frequency is typically 35 megahertz and power dissipation is typically 360mW.

The absolute maximum ratings of the SN54198 can be summarized as:(1)supply voltage,VCC:7V; (2)input voltage:5.5V; (3)operating free-air temperature range:-55 to 125; (4)storage temperature range:-65 to 150.
