The SHT11 is designed as one kind of a single chip relative humidity and temperature multi sensor module comprising a calibrated digital output. Application of industrial CMOS processes with patented micro-machining (CMOSens technology) ensures highest reliability and excellent long term stability. The SHT11 includes a capacitive polymer sensing element for relative humidity and a bandgap temperature sensor. Both are seamlessly coupled to a 14bit analog to digital converter and a serial interface circuit on the same chip.
SHT11 has nine features. (1)Relative humidity and temperature sensors. (2)Dew point. (3)Fully calibrated, digital output. (4)Excellent long-term stability. (5)No external components required. (6)Ultra low power consumption. (7)Surface mountable or 4-pin fully interchangeable. (8)Small size. (9)Automatic power down. Those are all the main features.
Some sensor humidity performance specifications of SHT11 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its resolution would be min 0.5%RH and typ 0.03%RH and max 0.03%RH which also would be min 8bit and typ 12bit and max 12bit. (2)Its repeatability would be typ 0.1%%RH. (3)Its nonlinearity would be typ +/-3%RH for raw data and would be typ <<1%RH for linearized. (4)Its range would be min 0 and max 100%RH. (5)Its response time would be typ 4s. (6)Its hysteresis would be typ +/-1%RH. (7)Long term stability would be typ <0.5%RH/yr. And so on.
Also some electrical characteristics of SHT11 are concluded as follow. (1)Its power supply DC would be min 2.4V and typ 5V and max 5.5V. (2)Its supply current would be typ 550uA for measuring and min 2ua and typ 28uA for average and would be typ 0.3uA and max 1uA for sleep.
