The SC1565IST-2.5TR is a high performance positive voltageregulator designed for use in applications requiring verylow dropout voltage at up to 1.5 Amps. Since it hassuperior dropout characteristics compared to regularLDOs, it can be used to supply 2.5V on motherboardsor 2.8V on peripheral cards from the 3.3V supply thusallowing the elimination of costly heatsinks.Additionally, the 5-lead TO-220 and SO-8 versionshave an enable pin to further reduce power dissipationwhile shut down. The SC1565 provides excellentregulation over variations in line, load and temperature.
