The SAB80C537-16N is one member of the SAB80C537 series.The SAB 80C537 is a high-end member of the Siemens SAB 8051 family of microcontrollers. It is designed in Siemens ACMOS technology and based on the SAB 8051 architecture. ACMOS is a technology which combines high-speed and density characteristics with low-power consumption or dissipation.

Features of the SAB80C537 are:(1) eight data pointers for external memory addressing;(2) fourteen interrupt vectors, four priority levels selectable;(3)powerful 16-bit compare/capture unit(CCU) with up to 21 high-speed or PWM output channels and 5 capture inputs;(4)8-bit A/D converter with 12 multiplexed inputs and programmable ref. voltages;(5)two full duplex serial interfaces.Use of the software controlled power saving modes is blocked, when this pin is held on high level. A high level during reset performs an automatic start of the watchdog timer immediately after reset.When left unconnected this pin is pulled high by a weak internal pull-up resistor.All registers, except the program counter and the four general purpose register banks, reside in the special function register area. The 81 special function registers include arithmetic registers, pointers, and registers that provide an interface between the CPU and the on-chip peripherals. There are also 128 directly addressable bits within the SFR area.
