The S25120 is designed as one member of the S25 series which is a kind of silicon power rectifiers with peak reverse voltage of 1200V. Its standard polarity means stud is cathode and its reverse polarity means stud is anode.

S25120 has six features. (1)Glass passivated die. (2)It has low forward voltage. (3)400A surge rating. (4)Glass to metal seal construction. (5)Vrrm to 1600V. (6)It has excellent reliability. Those are all the main features.

Some important electrical characteristics of S25120 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its average forward current would be 25A with conditions of Tc=135°C, half sine wave and Rjc=2.0°C/W. (2)Its maximum surge current would be 400A with conditions of 8.3ms half sine and Tj=200°C. (3)Its max I2t for fusing would be 660A2s. (4)Its max peak forward voltage would be 1.1V with conditions of Ifm=30A and Tj=25°C. (5)Its max peak reverse current would be 10uA with conditions of Vrrm and Tj=25°C and it would be 1.0mA with conditions of Vrrm and Tj=150°C. (6)Its max recommended operating frequency would be 10KHz. It should be noted that about the max peak forward voltage the pulse test is pulse width 300us and duty cycle is 2%.
