The RFX144V12 is a kind of MONOFAX facsimile modem. It features an advanced Rockwell proprietary voice compression algorithm which can compress voice to 5.7 kbps with near toll quality playback, allowing up to 12 minutes of speech to be stored in 4 Mbits of memory. Facsimile modem and digital answering machine codec functions are integrated into a single device. The device provides a programmable DTMF receiver and three programmable tone detectors. The tone detectors operate concurrently with all modes. The device is available in a 100-pin PQFP package.
