The R8069B is designed as line interface unit which is a single chip CMOS device that interfaces the rockwell R8070 T1/CEPT PCM transceivr or RT9170 intelligent T1 controller to the physical T-1/CEPT PCM30 transmission medium.
The R8069B has many features. The first one is compatible with T-1 (1.544Mbit/s) DSX-1 and PCM30 (2.048 Mbit/s) standards. The second one is selectable T-1 and PCM30 clock rates. The third one is directly compatible with rockwell R8070 T-1/CEPT PCM transceivr, RT9170 intelligent T1 controller, and R8071 ISDN/DMI link layer controller devices. The fourth one is meets jitter requirements specified in AT&T publication 62411 for T-1 and CCITT recommendation G823 for PCM30. The fifth one is phase locked loop for loop timing applications. The sixth one is incorporates a frequency discriminator in PLL circuitry to enhance frequency training and locking.
