The R8050 is a kind of T-1 serial transmitter. The device formats data to be serially transmitted according to T-1 D2 or T-1 D3 specifications, inserting framing and signaling bits along with 24 channels of 8-bit channel data. It provides for alarm reporting via the bit 2 inhibit method or, with minimal external logic, via the multifram alignment signal (FS) modification method.
There are some features of R8050 as follows: (1)single 5 V supply, low power schottky TTL compatible; (2)accepts 8 bits of parallel data as input; (3)generates output as 193 bit serial data stream in T-1, D2, D3 or D4 mode 3 data format; (4)provides a channel and frame timing signal; (5)provides alternate control for alarm reporting and signaling; (6)provides automatic bit insertion for all-zero channel samples.
The following is the maximum ratings of R8050: (1)supply voltage, VDD: +4.75 to +5.25 V; (2)operating temperature, TOP: 0 to 70; (3)storage temperature, TSTG: -55 to +150.
