R6501

The R6501 is designed as a complete, high performance 8-bit NMOS-3 microcomputer on a single chip and is compatible with all members of the R6500 family. It consists of an enhanced 6502 CPU, an internal clock oscillator, 192 bytes of random access memory (RAM) and versatile interface circuitry.

The R6501 has twelve features. (1)Enhanced 6502 CPU. (2)192-byte static RAM. (3)32 bidirectional TTL comoatible I/O lines (four ports). (4)Two 16-bit pogrammable counter/timers, with latches. (5)Serial port. (6)Ten interrupts. (7)Bus expandable to 64K bytes of external memory. (8)Flexible clock circuitry. (9)1us minimum instruction execution time at 2MHz. (10)Single +5V power supply. (11)12mW standby power for 32 bytes of the 192-byte RAM. (12)Available in 64-pin plastic QUIP and 68-pin PLCC packages. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of R6501 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (3)Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C for commercial and would be from -40°C to 85°C for industrial. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of R6501 are concluded as follow. (1)Its RAM standby voltage (retention mode) would be min 3.0V and max Vcc. (2)Its RAM standby current (retection mode) would be typ 4mA. (3)Its input high voltage would be min 2.0V and max Vcc all except XTL1 and would be min 4.0V and max Vcc for XTL1. (4)Its input low voltage would be min -0.3V and max +0.8V. (5)Its input leakage current would be max +/-10uA. (6)Its input low current would be typ -1.0mA and max -1.6mA. And so on.
