The QSurround™ QX2015 is a bipolar analog virtual surround processor using QSound Labs patented technology to create a spatial or widened surround sound experience. This virtual surround experience of QX2015 is achieved by first passive decoding the individual surround channels from a matrix encoded stereo signal, then the QSound processing widens the front channel information, and virtualizes the surround channel, placing it to the sides and behind the listener. If the source material is a standard stereo recording, QSound's high quality stereo expansion, QXpander™, creates a spatial or widened stereo image.
