The Q2X8E3 is designed as triacs which may be triggered from a blocking to conduction state for either polarity of applied voltage and is designed for AC switching and phase control applications such as speed and temperature modulation controls, lighting controls and static switching relays. The triggering signal is normally applied between the gate and MT1.
Q2X8E3 has four features. The first one is it it would have electrically isolated package. The next one is it would have glass passivated junctions. The next one is about its voltage capability which would be up to 800 volts. The next one is about its surge capability which would be up to 200 amps. That are all the main features.
