The PVDZ172NS is designed as a photovoltaic relay which is a singlepole, normally open solid state relay that can replace electromechanical relays used for general purpose switching of DC loads. PVDZ172NS utilizes international rectifier's HEXFET power MOSFET as the output switch, driven by an integrated circuit photovoltaic generator of novel construction. The output switch is controlled by radiation from a GaAlAs light emitting diode (LED) which is optically isolated from the photovoltaic generator.
PVDZ172NS has six features. (1)250mW on-resistance. (2)Bounce-free operation. (3)1.5A capacity. (4)4000Vrms I/O isolation. (5)Solid-state reliability. (6)UL recognition and CSA certification pending. Those are all the main features.
